Exploring the 1JZ Meeting at Queensland Raceway

On this episode, we look at the exciting 1JZ meeting at Queensland Raceway. The event featured hundreds of JZ powered cars, each showcasing unique Japanese style and culture. While the 1JZ meeting has been a long-standing tradition in Japan, this year marked the first time it was not held there.

Why Australia?

The decision to host the 1JZ meeting in Australia instead of Japan came as a surprise to many enthusiasts. Organized by Australian enthusiasts, the event drew participants from various parts of Australia and even New Zealand. The event organizer, Hodie, shared his excitement and enthusiasm for bringing this iconic event to Australian shores.

Experience and Highlights

From show cars to drift cars, the event featured a diverse range of JZX models, including the jzx100, jzx90, jzx81, Mark 2, Cresta, and Chaser. Participants showcased their passion for drifting and the unique charm of these big sedans with powerful JZ engines.

One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to ride along with passionate drivers like Tiff, who shared her experience of having a 1JZ engine in an R32 Skyline. The event provided a platform for enthusiasts to connect and share their love for JZ-powered vehicles.

Track Experience and Challenges

Attendees had the chance to experience the thrill of driving on the track, with some facing challenges like overheating and technical issues. Despite the hurdles, participants pushed their cars to the limit and enjoyed the adrenaline rush of drifting.

However, the event took a somber turn when a participant collapsed due to the extreme heat. The quick response of paramedics ensured the individual received prompt medical attention, highlighting the importance of safety at such events.

Looking Ahead

While the event faced unexpected challenges, the spirit of camaraderie and passion for JZ-powered cars shone through. As the day came to a close with a rock-paper-scissors competition, attendees reflected on the memories created and looked forward to future gatherings.

As we wrap up our coverage of the 1JZ meeting at Queensland Raceway, we shift our focus to Sportsland Yamanashi, where drifters had the unique opportunity to run the track backwards. Stay tuned for more thrilling adventures and exciting drift experiences in the world of JZ-powered vehicles.
