Today, we’ve aligned a trio of rapid but very different builds to step up and go head-to-head to see if the super in supercar is actually still that super. We’ve got a top-spec German family car, a notorious built Japanese supercar, and an iconically fast British supercar. Today, for science sake, we’re going to find out who’s fastest.
Ready, set, go! In partnership with race logic, we’re going to be carrying out two sets of races. First up today, it’s a quarter-mile roll race. Next up, it’s a drag race to the quarter mile. All races are best of three, and the V-Box Performance Box Touch will be recording data such as 0 to 60s, quarter-mile times, and more to give you guys the stats on how this savage trio performs. Let’s get over and meet the builds and their owners.
Harry in the 2021 BMW LCI M5 Competition
First up today, repping for the family-friendly car lovers, fresh from doing the weekly shopping and dropping the kids off to school is Harry in his mad 840 brake horsepower 950Nm 4.4 L V8 twin-turbo powered 2021 BMW LCI M5 Competition tuned by Velocity Tuning Mods. Coming up, the cheapest available M5 Competition on the market at the time of filming. Harry estimates a total of 5k spent in tuning and modifications, meaning you could potentially own a similar build for around £45,000.
Adam in the 2017 Nissan R35 GTR
And welcoming to the channel, Adam, represented for the notorious GTR and sports car lovers in his crazy 2017 865 brake horsepower 875Nm 3.8 L V6 twin-turbo powered Nissan R35 GTR built and tuned by Field Mods. Next up is the drag races, before we get cracking, let’s get a few sound checks. Ready, set, go! The M5 switches to rear-wheel drive mode on launch and gives up mid-run. The McLaren outperforms the GTR and M5 in the drag races, taking the win.
Results and Conclusion
After multiple races and intense competitions, the McLaren emerges as the fastest in the quarter-mile times and 0-60 speeds, followed closely by the GTR and the M5. In the end, it’s a draw with each car showcasing its strengths and surprises along the way.
