**Rediscovering the Beans 86 at Scoa Circuit**
Out here today at scoa circuit with a car you guys haven’t seen for quite some time – the beans 86. I had to come out and make sure it hadn’t dissolved into the ground like a wet cardboard box, although it looks like the snails have had some fun chewing on it. The rust doesn’t seem to be much worse than it used to be, but it’s definitely not getting any better. But today’s video isn’t about this car, it’s about doing a bit of spring cleaning for 2024.
**The Origin of Noro YouTube Videos**
I’m going to tell you a little story about how the noro YouTube video actually started back in the day. I was a photographer for car magazines, and as the internet grew, magazines started to die off. When I’d be out taking photos, sometimes I’d think, “Man, I really want to take a video of this.” Because you know, the car is in motion, and it looks cooler when it’s moving. So I had a cheap little Sony video camera thing, and I’d take short little videos – like the sort of thing you’d post on Instagram these days. I made compilation videos called noro raw 1, 2, and 3, and they are still on the channel. That’s how the channel started.
**A Throwback to the Original Format of Noro**
Today’s episode is going to be a throwback to the original format of noro, which was a clip show. It’s more of a spring cleaning of my hard drive of old segments that didn’t actually make it to a video.
**Exploring the Prob Box at Fuji Speedway**
One car we haven’t seen on the channel for a while is the prob box. I took the prob box out to Fuji Speedway and ran it flat out down the front straight, which was a lot of fun. I kind of got overconfident from that and thought, “It’s a pretty fast car, so let’s take it to a regular track.” I tried to make a video about that, but it didn’t work out, which is why this segment never ended up being a video. Let’s watch it anyway.
**A DIY Solution for Rusty Cars**
Out here today in goodma prefecture for a Toyota AE86 meeting. What if you made your own AE86 out of another car? There’s a restoration Workshop in Japan that has come up with a product to help get projects with big rust holes moving along and get past registration. It’s a demo car made to look like an AE86 but is actually a modified Honda Beat. This unique approach to car restoration can make half of you cringe and the other half get excited for no good reason.
**Fixing the Shift Lever on the S15**
Remember when I drove the S15 and the shift lever popped out in the middle of a corner? Here’s how I fixed that by dropping the gearbox down and locking it in place. Sometimes, the simplest solutions can save you from a major headache.
**The Last Old Boys Event at Eisu Minami**
Most of you probably know that the world’s most famous drifting track Eisu Minami has been turned into a rally course. But right before that, they held a last-ever old boys event, which I attended and found a bit of cool history and some old school drift photos.
**Back in the Bean Saddle**
I’ve been extremely spoiled by the S15, but it’s time to get back in the Bean saddle somehow. After sitting for who knows how long, the Beans 86 still runs like it’s built Toyota tough. A little reminder of how things used to be.
**Conclusion**
