Nissan vehicles have always been bound for adventure. The company’s ruggedly designed SUV the Patrol was introduced to the U.S. market in the early ’60s, and ever since the Japanese automotive manufacturer has been building vehicles to inspire explorers. This is evident not just in its past but its present-day lineup as well, including the newly refreshed 2024 Nissan Rogue.
As it enters its 16th model year—a testament to its reliability and longevity—it has lost its baby-face curves and enters late teendom with a more sculpted physique and newfound capability. By way of an updated grille and a lithe, sportier body shape atop new wheels, the 2024 Nissan Rogue represents much more than good looks.
Going Rogue
Equipped with a standard Variable Compression Turbocharged (VC-Turbo) 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, the newest Rogue is capable of producing 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. That’s plenty of power to propel this five-passenger vehicle at a thrilling clip and for merging onto the highway. Nissan is a variable-compression-ratio-engine pioneer, and the Rogue’s VC-Turbo achieves what may sound impossible: performance and fuel efficiency in one powertrain package.²
Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission pairs with the Rogue’s turbocharged engine. Choose between driving the front wheels or all four; the transmission employs computer software that reads vehicle speed and accelerator pedal position to determine the ideal gear ratio. There are no shifts to disturb power delivery, as CVTs provide smooth acceleration.
Available in four trim levels, S, SV, SL, and Platinum—each comes standard with front-wheel drive or available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive—the Rogue is programmed with idle stop/start functionality to conserve fuel when the vehicle is stopped. Those who put fuel efficiency at the top of their list will be delighted that the 2024 Rogue earned an EPA-estimated 30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive, and 28 mpg and 35 mpg, respectively, with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. Choosing the line-topping Platinum trim drops the highway number slightly to 34 mpg.²
The Rogue includes Nissan Safety Shield® 360 standard on all grades.³ Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking are all included. Stepping up to the Rogue SV means the inclusion of ProPILOT Assist,⁴ which melds Intelligent Cruise Control with Steering Assist for more confident highway driving. For even more technology-enhanced driving, SL and Platinum trims feature ProPILOT Assist with Navi-Link,⁴ proactively adjusting speed ahead of curves in the road as anticipated by the built-in map function.
Adventure on the Horizon
And while the Rogue delivers on-road comfort, sometimes the call of the wild is too much to resist and dirt roads make for the perfect escape. Customizing for different experiences is a flick of the wrist away, as the 2024 Rogue comes with Eco and Sport modes; with the available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive option, it brings Auto, Snow, and Off-Road modes, too.
This versatile SUV welcomes the challenge of light-duty offroading to camping sites under the stars or beachside spots with ocean breezes. And with an available panoramic moonroof above, you might just want to lay the seats back and gaze up at the night sky from inside the cabin. Every trip is enhanced by seating for five and generous cargo space behind the back seats. A gallon-size cubby in the rear is perfectly suited to help secure a water receptacle for rinsing off after a spontaneous dip in the ocean, or iced tea to share with friends.
Nissan makes it easy to load up the Rogue even when your arms are full. An available Motion-Activated Liftgate automatically opens the vehicle with a kick under the rear bumper, making trips to and from the vehicle a hands-free experience. If you find you need more room than you anticipated, the optional remote-folding rear seats are activated with an easy-pull lever from the cargo area, instantly doubling the cargo⁵ capacity.
In the rear, there’s ample room to pack all the gear you need. With up to 36.5 cubic feet of cargo space⁶ behind the second row and 74.1 cubic feet with the seats folded down, tents, sleeping bags, or a portable fridge fit neatly and stay easily accessible.⁶ For more versatility, Nissan’s available Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System adds an adjustable set of shelves and dividers; a retractable pet divider is also available that utilizes the cargo area to safely transport furry companions on off-the-grid pursuits.
Customizing a Rogue for an upcoming adventure is simple too. Nissan gives you the ability and flexibility to choose from a variety of ready-to-install accessories,⁶ like a Yakima hitch-mount bike rack or a hatch tent that streamlines campouts. Best of all, accessories that fall under the Nissan Genuine Accessories portfolio are backed by a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty⁷ (whichever comes first) if dealer-installed at the time of new-vehicle purchase.
Technology Tour de Force
As one of the most popular small SUVs on the market, the Rogue was fully redesigned for model year 2021, which included an overhaul of its technology across the board—both for entertainment and safety features. For 2024, Rogue drivers benefit from an available 12.3-inch HD color touchscreen in the center console, plus an optional 12.3-inch fully Digital Dashboard Display and an available Head-Up Display¹¹ that presents important details in the sightline, so the driver can continue to look ahead.
SL and Platinum trim levels come with wireless Apple CarPlay®¹² and Android Auto™, and for the first time ever, the 2024 Rogue charges personal devices with illuminated USB-C fast-charging ports—two up front, with two additional ports¹¹ in the second row in most trim levels. Voice recognition and Bluetooth are included across the board, with SL and Platinum Rogue models equipped with wireless phone connectivity and charging.
Nissan recognizes how important technology is to its owners, which is why new Rogue owners have access to a generous three-year trial of its NissanConnect® Services¹³ for the SV trim and above. This available app gives owners the ability to lock and unlock the car, start and stop the engine, make emergency calls, and more.
And on the infotainment and connectivity front, Nissan has propelled the Rogue into the future, making the latest iteration of this SUV its first model to debut Google built-in¹⁴ for SL and Platinum trims. This class-exclusive feature¹⁵ includes Google Assistant, Google Maps, and more on Google Play. Showcased on a brilliant available 12.3-inch center touchscreen, this setup moves the volume button to the center of the control panel below the screen as a bonus manual control for quick and intuitive access.
Music fans may choose the Platinum grade for the Bose Premium Audio System alone, complete with 10 speakers, including a resonant dual-driver subwoofer to fill the car with concert-like sound quality. Together with sound-deadening insulation and speed-sensitive volume control that activates when it’s slowing down or accelerating, the Rogue creates a stimulating audio experience whether your playlists are composed of podcasts or pop music.
Style, All the Way
Going Rogue has never looked so good. Crisp lines inscribe a modern look into the flanks, and the iconic V-motion grille received a glow-up from Nissan designers. New front and rear fascias update the elegant silhouette, and new inner taillights and exterior badges wrap the SUV in luminescent glow.
Classy and modern from front to rear, the body exudes confidence, as well as an attractive cabin far beyond where the Rogue has ever been before. In the Platinum trim, supple semi-aniline leather appointments are stitched in a quilted pattern for an additional layer of comfort and style. The streamlined, minimalist dashboard and tailored upholstery offer an up-to-date yet laid-back atmosphere that feels like home, wherever you go.
For 2024, the Rogue comes in a variety of deeply pigmented shades including Deep Ocean Blue Pearl, Baja Storm Metallic,¹⁶ Everest White Pearl¹⁶—each equally inspired by the nature of adventure—and a selection of two-tone¹⁶ finishes with a contrasting black roof. All-season tires are wrapped around standard 17-inch or available 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels with body-color bumpers bookending the sleek Rogue silhouette.
Whether your itinerary consists of driving carpool to hockey practice or taking a cross-country road trip, comfort is key. Nissan understands that and continues to include its superlative Zero Gravity Seats—front and rear outboards that can help reduce fatigue on long drives. Passengers can sink into standard premium cloth or optional leatherette and new, premium Chestnut brown leather upholstery that evokes the feeling of a warm study with a good book.
The Rogue is carefully designed inside and out, seamlessly weaving intuitive technology and driving comfort. Behind the wheel, drivers can be confident that it was made with excellence in mind. Most of all, the Rogue is ready to journey and explore—making it a reliable companion for the everyday adventures of your life.
