Experiencing Drift Culture at Gunsai Toge
On this episode, we’re out here again today at Gunsai Toge for a track day organized by Hardcore Japan and the Props Drift Team from Hachioji in Tokyo. And we’re not just filming it, we are also driving in it once again in the S15 Sylvia. You may have seen in one of the previous videos where we drove here for the first time in that car. It was a bit sketchy but a lot of fun.
Exploring Gunsai Toge
This event takes place at a former Cycle Sports facility that has been transformed into a hill climb rally race track. Today, it’s filled with drift cars, making it a unique experience for all participants. The venue has a big, long winding track that can be divided into two drift courses – A and B. A Course is narrower and more technical, while B Course is wider and faster.
Drifting for Fun
In the drifting world, there are two types of enthusiasts – those who are serious about training and competing, and those who are all about having fun. Gunsai Toge attracts drifters looking for a street drifting experience, adding to the excitement of the event.
The S15 Sylvia Experience
The only car available for driving at the event was the S15 Sylvia, equipped with stock power and slight boost upgrades. Despite its limitations, it promises an exhilarating drive at Gunsai Toge. With new tires on board, the S15 is ready to take on the challenge of the day.
Track Exploration
Starting with the A Course, familiar territory for the driver, the focus then shifts to the B Course, known for its speed and technical challenges. The downhill run offers a whole new perspective on the track, adding an element of thrill to the driving experience.
