Episode Recap: Drifting Down Under in Australia
Introduction
On this episode that was filmed in Australia, we take a look at the drift Cadet event happening at the CER Park. With two cars on hand, including the 86 by drift Cadet and the Australian-spec Commodore Ute with a Supercharged V8, the day promises to be filled with excitement and adrenaline.
Drivers’ Meeting and Balloon Animals
Like most track days, the event started with a drivers’ meeting where all the rules and regulations were explained. Organized by Pete from drift Cadet, the meeting also had a touch of fun with balloon animals making an appearance. Although the meetings tend to be lengthy and repetitive, it is crucial to pay attention to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable day.
Passenger Rides and Test Laps
As the day progressed, the focus shifted towards passenger rides. Taking people out for drift joy rides in both the V8 and 86 cars proved to be exciting and nerve-wracking. With the big Supercharged V8 in the Commodore Ute, it didn’t take much to get the undersized rear tires smoking and the adrenaline pumping.
Car Show and Cruise Session
During the lunch break, a cruise session allowed everyone to take their cars out for a two-lap cruise around the track. Additionally, a car show featuring a variety of vehicles, from JDM classics to Australian favorites like the Commodore Ute and Corolla, added to the excitement of the day.
Unexpected Surprises and Midday Show
A spontaneous burnout session led to a bit of trouble, resulting in a temporary ban from driving. However, after apologizing and promising to behave, the situation was resolved. The midday show included prizes and giveaways, along with judging duties for the car show trophies and kids’ coloring competition.
Meet and Greet
One of the joys of being a content creator is connecting with like-minded individuals who share similar interests. Meeting enthusiasts who are passionate about cars and car culture provides a sense of camaraderie and shared experiences that transcend geographical boundaries.
Conclusion
As the day came to a close, the focus shifted back to the track with afternoon sessions in the 86 on the reverse layout. A big thanks to drift Cadet for bringing this event to Melbourne and providing an opportunity to connect with local drivers. Special shoutout to tier three Patrons for their support in keeping the cars on the road and exciting plans for future projects, including the 1JZ crester.
Wrapping up the day at CER Park, the episode captured the thrill and excitement of drifting in Australia. As always, the passion for cars and the community that surrounds them shines through in every interaction and experience. Thank you for watching, and until next time, stay tuned for more adrenaline-fueled adventures in the world of drifting.
